Loredana Trestin

Getting this far doesn’t mean feeling fully satisfied with what I’ve built and stopping to contemplate my work, in fact it’s exactly the opposite, the desire to always get involved, that’s still there, despite being differently young. .

How did you spend this complicated period?

The meaning of resilience inherent in a material is that of having the ability to absorb a shock without breaking. Here, during my journey, like many others, naturally, despite my conflicts, contrasts and collisions, I managed to assimilate, to react by trying to take advantage of the experience, transforming negativity into a greater strength to move forward with tenacity.

How do you experience professional “love”?

Professionally, I have always experienced love and I still experience it at 360°, the love of art, beauty, elegance, the love of sharing the passion for my work with others.

But, what exactly does Loredana Trestin do?

Over the years I have held diverse roles in the field of art: gallery owner, curator, artistic director, organizer of cultural events and being a woman curious about the declinations that my profession presents to me, I have chosen different work challenges in which I have believed since from the beginning, collaborating not only with people and structures dedicated mainly to art, but also with companies that with “it” have conveyed applied art creations in the commercial world. Hence the desire to combine design and art at a high level, yes, high level because my users belong to an extremely demanding target, where details, quality and uniqueness make the difference.

What are your showrooms like and in what areas are you involved?

In my showrooms you can admire products that are tailor-made for the customer, nothing is repeatable, the object itself becomes a work of art, for this I make use of some internationally recognized artists with whom we have created creations presented in museum circuits. For me and my staff, the sports environment was also an area in which we worked offering very limited edition graphics, and sports champions used our creativity and expertise. I am Genoese by birth, I love my city and I love the sea, so it is easy for me to approach the world of sailing where, thanks to the collaboration of an “artist craftsman” we offer furnishing accessories for yachts, creations designed according to existing spaces in which not only is the concept unique in the world but the materials used can be of great value such as mother of pearl, gold and silver, precious woods, inlays and much more.

Today, where can they find you and what do you propose?

In my exhibition space, on the main floor of a Palazzo dei Rolli in Genoa, visitors are involved, not only by the artistic beauty of a frescoed ceiling, but… from the originality of the companies that I propose with their products that I treat, being first and foremost a curator, as true works of art. I like to discover and collaborate with new realities that believe in my project, Italy is full of designers who could link their names to art, as I propose to companies with certain requirements, the artists with whom I collaborate.
